IK Multimedia T-RackS Comprexxor
T-RackS Comprexxor is an emulation of the Empirical Labs Distressor hardware compressor for your DAW. It’s, however, not just a soft replication of the original but also a further development. The IK Multimedia added new features to make it more versatile than the original hardware.
Unlike the original mono Distressor hardware compressor, the Comprexxor plugin works in stereo with additional processing modes, including stereo and mid-side. Then, it comes with undo/redo functionality, presets, and other clever features. Plus, it’s part of the T-RackS family, allowing you to combine it with other signal processors in a single plugin.
Not to forget, the plugin can also be used as a saturation tool for adding harmonics or even analog-style distortion to tracks and mixes. You get the two classic saturation modes that are accessible via the DIST 2/3 button.
