For Superbooth 2021, vpme QD quad drum voice gets more audio outputs, CV ins… thanks to the new QEX 4HP expander module.
The big topic of Superbooth 21 will be drum/percussive voices. The fair has not yet started, but umpteen new drum modules have already been announced. Last year the stereo filters were the hot sh..t.
vpme, who already picked up on the drum voice trend at SB 2019 with the QD Drum, participate again on this but in a different way. Not a new QD but a very handy expander for it.
vpme QEX
QEX is the feature-rich partner/expansion module for the QD drum voice. It has 4HP and adds neat extra functionality to the module. Starting with 2 more voice outputs making it possible to route every voice of the 4 QD voices to a separate output. That is already a reason to get the module. The routing is also fully CV controllable.
The expansion also adds 4 more CV inputs (-5V to 5V) to the QD where two of the CVs ins can also be clock/gate inputs for fills, ratchets, or extra triggers. It also improves the workflow by adding four LED buttons for more hands-on features.
I think no QD user can avoid this expander. It makes the whole QD module even more versatile and flexible.
The availability and price of the vpme QEX are TBA. Vpme will exhibit the QD and his new partner the QEX at Superbooth 21 next week on booth Z160.
