Elektron has renewed its Analog Rytm MKII drum machine and Analog Four MkII Synthesizer with a new black finish, color palette and fresh sounds.
Black remains one of the favorite colors when it comes to synthesizers and drum machines or? The developers of Elektron thought that too. After initially releasing the MKII in gray, the Analog Rytm MkII and Analog Four MkII are now available in a new re-designed black finish. I like it much better than the lighter finish, it matches better with the interface design of the devices, in my opinion.
One can wonder why they didn’t come up with this restyling idea sooner. If you read the community, many Elektron fans didn’t like the light finish at all. Good to see them now in black.
Hardware & Software Upgrade?
Apart from the new black finish, little has been done on the new Analog Rythm MkII and Analog Four MkII, unfortunately. According to Elektron both machines have also been updated with a fresh back-lit color palette to complement the user interface. In addition to the machine makeover, the factory content has been updated with some exceptional new slices to get you started.
So to all users of the previous MkII, don’t panic, it’s just a cosmetic update. To me they look very chic, unfortunately, the small display of the two devices still bothers me. A bigger one would be a big workflow upgrade. Maybe in a MkIII version, I hope a lot.
