Northern Light Modular rEM is a 19“ rack MIDI controller with which you can make any MIDI powered synth or effect processor CV controllable.
Last October, I reported about the Nothern Light Modular euEM eurorack MIDI controller module, with which an Eventide H9 or any other MIDI controllable effect device can be controlled with a modular synth. The evenMIDI MIDI controller is now available with the same technology as a universal 19″ rack version.
It offers enhanced ergonomic, upgraded interface elements, and custom panels for multiple panels. It pairs nicely with the “uber” effect processor Eventide H9000 or with any other rack effect. Besides hardware effects, you can also control any MIDI CC driven units including small pedals or software plugins.
CV Connectivity
Like the euEM module, the rEM rack has numerous CV to MIDI controller inputs that includes presets matching with the H9, Strymon Volante, Kilpatrick Redox, Strymon BigSky/TimeLine, and more. It has 10 channel CV to MIDI inputs, 10 CV inputs in Banaform, 10 CV inputs as 6,3mm jacks normalled to the banana, 10 CV inputs as 3.5 mm jacks normalled to the 6,3mm jack. On top, it has 10 attenuverters to adjust the CV signals positively or negatively and switchable uni/bipolar offset controls.
You can control up to 4 MIDI devices simultaneously in live-mode. Also, it supports MIDI CC, Note On/Off, velocity, aftertouch, and MIDI clock generation from LFOs, pulses, or any other signal. So that you can also build fixed setups, it has 6 banks, 5 loaded with presets and 4 are user-configurable. None other than Richard Devine got one of the first units. I guess he will completely modularize his H9000 and creat extreme sounds with it
Northern Light Modular rEM is available now for 750€ and shipping starts in August 2020.
