Audio Animals recently published STATUS, a new virtual instrument plugin (VST/AU) fully packed with sounds from the Casio LK-210 keyboard.
Synth Anatomy loves free plugins because they give everyone the opportunity to make music without spending money. So I can’t overlook the new Audio Animals free plugin. STATUS Casio LK-210 is a sample-based virtual instrument (VST/AU) that is based on the sounds of the classic Casio keyboard. Same as the hardware, it includes a total of 129 classic Casio sounds including pianos, organs, ethnics, bass, guitar and more.
According to the developer, it sounds exactly the same as the keyboard with a few extra features such as a built-in ADSR, reverb, tune, volume, and pan. One question arises to me: how legal is this virtual instrument. It’s free, however, the sounds are based on samples of the ROM library of a recent Casio keyboard where the sounds are usually copy protected. I cannot say exactly whether this is allowed or not but it should be mentioned.
The Casio sound has been a much-loved sound throughout the years. It’s a very basic sound but a sound of it’s own none the less. In this VST we have captured all 100 of the classic sounds found on the Casio LK-210. Such classic sounds include pianos, organs, strings, bass, guitar, brass, reed, synth, ethnic and percussion
Included Sounds
Drum (1), piano (23), organ (11), accordion (4), guitar (11), bass (8), string (10), voice (5), brass (21), wind (9), synth (20) and ethnic (6).
Audio Animals STATUS Casio LK-210 (VST/AU) is available now as a free download from their official website.
