TC Electronic Icon Series Legacy plugins are no longer bound to the hardware controller and are now available as native plugins.

Good news from TC Electronic. They have today released native versions of their Icon Series Legacy plugins. These plugins have been on the market for some time but only with dedicated hardware controllers like a kind of hardware dongle. From now on, they (DVR250, TC1210, TC8210 & TC2290) are also available as a classic plugin without these.

The plugins are the same with the same features. However, there is now the option to buy the plugin solo or in the controller bundle. The price policy is a bit strange. The plugins are currently available with a 20% discount. For example, the TC1210 plugin normally costs $ 99, the controller version only € 105 (Thomann). So I would continue to buy the hardware because there is no significant price difference after the intro sale.

Controller Vs. Native Customers

According to TC Electronics, both consumers (hardware version & native) benefit from the new version. That’s a nice move. However, we don’t know iThis was said on Facebook on a comment.

4 Native Plugins

  • DVR250: TC Electronic System 6000 EMT Electronic Reverberator emulation
  • TC1210: emulation of the TC1210 Spatial Expander with two sperate chorus/flanger effects.
  • TC8210: an airy, transparent reverb not a recreation.
  • TC2290: TC2290 digital delay with modulation emulation.

TC Electronic Icon Series Legacy Plugins are available now with a 20% OFF intro discount for a limited time. DVR250 ($159/$199), TC1210 ($79/$99), TC8210 ($55/$69) and TC2290 ($159/$199). The plugins run on Windows and macOS in VST, AU and AAX format. Attention, they require an iLok account or dongle.
