Sampleson SUB Analog Drums is a free virtual drum instrument plugin for PC & Mac that uses synthesis to recreate vintage drum machine sounds.
I am not a fan of products that call themselves analog although they are a plugin and use 100% virtual analog technology. But okay, this product is free so let’s take a look over it. Sampleson has recently released SUB Analog Drums, a free virtual instrument that features 18 “analog” drum sounds that use synthesis instead of samples.
The plugin looks like a drum machine, but it is not. There is no sequencer and only acts as a nice drum sound module. Some sounds have parameters that allow you to change the sound but all have a mixer with pan and vol control. For more flexibility, it includes a sub-frequency oscillator. Although it is not a true analog device, Sub is a nice free little drum module plugin.
