Behringer is very active again, no wonder next week is Superbooth. After the rumors of a CS-80 clone, there is now information about a clone of the Solina String Ensemble Synthesizer as Desktop/Eurorack version. The new product is described as legendary analog string ensemble Synthesizer with 49-voice polyphony, ensemble chorus, vintage-style phase shifter, and Eurorack format.

The new Solina String Ensemble is based on a replica of the ARP/Eminent Solina SE-II circuit and has the same format as the Model D, Neutron and others. A bit strange is the fact that it’s compatible with the Eurorack format. Does one need a Solina in the Eurorack format? Personally, I don’t think.

Uli Behringer Statement On Gearslutz

In the ’80’s, combining a Solina stringer with a Small Stone phaser was the way to go. That’s our take on it – please ignore the date and price as we haven’t decided if and when we will build this recreation. I would appreciate some feedback from you.

Another document is talking about a price of $ 249.99 USD and a release of Q4 2018. You should ignore this information, but it’s interesting. A Solina for $ 249.99 is already a challenge.

  1. A euro formant filter or a fixed filterbank will be a nice combo for the euro version for sure. And the solina phaser is a nice addon to any euro setup…
