Native Instruments “supercharged” its Kontakt sampler in version 6.4 with a new Supercharger GT compressor, main FX bus & more

There is not only hot company-internal news from Native Instruments to report but also product news relevant to music production. NI has today released a big update for its Kontakt 6 sampler plugin. In Kontakt 6.4, users have access to new dynamic effects, a new main effects bus, and many smaller changes.

The highlight is the addition of the Supercharger GT compressor and a new transparent limiter to the effects selection of the Kontakt engine. Two creative effects for either adding hot, tonal compression or super-clean dynamic control. Another introduction in the 6.4 version is a new Main FX bus which makes signal routing more flexible. It has eight slots for inserting effects at the last step of the signal chain – after the Send FX and just before the instrument output. A nice update and that’s far not and that is by far not all that Kontakt 6.4 contains.

Added: There are now two new effects for dynamic processing (SUPERCHARGER GT, Transparent Limiter).

Fixed: Since Kontakt 6.3.0 folder locations with a slash directly in the path would not be stored by Kontakt.
Fixed: KSP Showing and hiding a label with a drop target did not work correctly.
Fixed: Replika BBD Type, Diffusion Amount, Diffusion Mod and Diffusion Density did not correctly recall values.
Fixed: When used as a send effect, Replika return parameter did not behave correctly.
Fixed: Kontakt would crash in certain edge cases when manually entering values in edit fields.
Added: New factory KSP multi script Remap Keyboard.
Improved: Tweaks to the factory KSP multi script Change Keys.
Added: Replika, Plate Reverb and Send Effects Chain additional presets.
