Endorphin.es has introduced two modules: Two of Cups M, an update of its sampler player module now with MIDI and Squawk Dirty to me, and a 1U stereo filter.
A sample player or sampler in a Eurorack system can be handy for quickly accessing sounds that can’t easily be recreated with a traditional synth voice. Alternatively, you can use them as sound sources for a drum sequencer.
The Two of Cups is a straightforward sample player. Endophin.es has now released its successor, the Two of Cups M. On top of that, they released a new 1U stereo filter called Squawk Dirty To Me.

Two Of Cups M still has 6HP and offers two identical sample player voices with zero-latency playback directly from the SD card. Each voice has CV control over pitch, gate, and meta-sample scan.
The new Endorphin.es Two Of Cups M version offers two key features that I would have liked to see in the first version. It now features built-in MIDI support via TRS Type A or B inputs, allowing you to trigger samples with MIDI notes.
Another new feature is that each sample can now have an unlimited length, so it can also play back very long drone or texture sounds, for example. That’s a super helpful upgrade.
Additionally, each voice includes a parameter knob to adjust multiple parameters: the decay of the internal decay envelope, sample volume, pitch offset +/- 2 octaves, loop (enable/disable), and sample select (offset) over 32 samples.
According to Endorphin.es, the sample per voice count was upgraded to 32, with an entirely rewritten SD card access library. Each sample can be up to 4 GB in length, so effectively unlimited.
Two Of Cups M supports up to 8 banks of samples and ships with a microSD card with samples from artists such as Nicolas Bougaïeff, Overmono, Julia Bondar, Maman Küsters, and Nero Bellum. Of course, you can also use it to upload your own samples.
Squawk Dirty To Me
Besides the Two Of Cups M sample playback module, Endorphin.es also has a new 1U module called Squawk Dirty To Me.
It’s a 1U (Intellijel format) multimode stereo filter based on its original 6HP module. Like the regular version, it offers eight well-known filters, including ladder (Moog), MS-20, Vactrol LPG emulations, DJ bipolar LP/HP, bandpass, high-pass variations, and a comb filter.
You can control the filter with three main parameters: cutoff frequency, resonance, and highpass filter. Further, it offers a meta filter scan, and a built-in VCA.
Neat, you can use it for stereo but also mono sources without any issues, as the left inputs are pre-patched (normalled) into the right inputs, so you will always have audio appearing in proper channels. Further, it offers new MIX OUT pins (IDC-3) on the back for cable-free connectivity.
First Impression
Two nice modules. I’m pleased to see that the sampler module has been significantly improved and now includes MIDI as a bonus. This makes it a very tempting module for a system.
