Polyverse Music Filterverse is a new filter plugin powered by various classic and experimental filter types and supported by deep modulations.
With its 25 filters ranging from classic to experimental, Polyverse Music Filterverse is one of the most powerful and creative filter plugins on the market, if not the best.
Now, the plugin is growing again with the new Filterverse 1.2.0 update. The latest free update introduces five additional unique filter modules, enhanced features, and improved CPU performance.
Polyverse Music Filterverse 1.2.0
Filterverse 1.2.0 is now available for download, providing the plugin with a notable upgrade. There are five new unique filter modules to explore, which at first glance do not have the characteristics of a typical filter.
The Valley is an asymmetric band-reject filter, combining lowpass and highpass filters, for creating brutal Reese bass or subtle tone carving. You can fine-tune it with the various parameters: anchor, spread, drive, and balance.
Then, Deep Phase is a band-pass phaser that features two phasers slightly shifted and inverted in phase. It works great for psychedelic sounds. Besides the cutoff and resonance, you can manipulate it with three parameters: peaks, spread, and drive.
Fibonacci Chorus is an ultra-dense golden-ratio chorus that never loops. Also, this filter module is fully programmable with four parameters: scatter, damp, crystal, and depth. In practice, you can use it for all kinds of chorus and detuned effects.
BarberPole is a musical frequency shifter for harmonic spirals and Shepard tones. According to developer Assaf Dar Sagol, it’s not a traditional cutoff, but rather a phase filter. You can adjust its direction, the musical intervals, stereo phase, and the phase.
Moreover, it can also follow pitch, allowing you to achieve Yamaha-style phase modulation with any audio source.
The fifth and last new filter mode is called Time Warp, and it’s a tempo‑synced granular module that can regroove, bend, and micro-edit audio on the fly. In my opinion, it is the most exciting new mode of all five, as it impressively fragments the audio.
Of course, you can tweak the mode with numerous parameters, including grain size, feedback, direction, texture, time, and range.

After a long beta period, Madrona Labs released Sumu Synthesizer. The same applies to the Polyverse Music Filterverse plugin.
It’s now in version 1.0 and officially out with all new features to explore.
Filterverse 1.0
In version 0.9.0, Filterse got four unique filter modes: vowel, Tempong, Fractazer, and Coils. Version 1.0 adds five additional filter types.
Equalize is an EQ filter with low shelf, mid-range bell, and high shelf settings. Evil is an MS-20-style, nasty, overdrive-able Sallen-Key filter with six different-sounding pole settings. Cabinator is a guitar/bass amp cabinet emulator with 10 models and a room simulation.
Alongside these, you get TemPitch a tempo delay with granular pitch-shifting and tape modulation, and yaleD opmeT, a reversed version of the TemPitch but with classic pitch-shifting.
According to Filterverse Music, the oscillator has also received a makeover. It now works as a modulator and can be routed to Filterverse’s input, transforming it into a monophonic Synthesizer. It also has new phase modulation, a new burst trigger mode for pinging filters, noise, and more.
Polverse Music ships Filterverse 1.0 with more than 700 prestes from professional sound designers, including John “Skippy” Lehmkuhl, Zardonic, Erez Eisen, DataBroth, and more.
Since its announcement in March, the plugin has been massively expanded with options. The new filters added in the betas alone made the whole plugin a new one. It is definitely one of the deepest filter plugins out there. Great release.

The exciting Filterverse filter is still in public beta, and development is still in full swing. The latest update, 0.9.0, adds another four unique filtering algorithms to the list.
Vowel Filter models mouth and throat shapes that create the characteristic sounds of the human voice. Then, we leave the classic filtering with Tempong, which lets you place tempo-synced delay taps across the stereo field with surgical precision. It offers multiple pattern options, a cross-fade function, and additional features.
Fractazer is a fractal phaser that utilizes a series of nested phasers, each contained within the previous one. With up to six levels of nesting, it can comb through the source signal using up to 66 frequency peaks and valleys. The results are pretty wild and unique.
Coils model the resonant qualities of a physical coil spring with control over how tightly the spring is twisted, high-frequency dampening, panning of alternating coils, and even coil shapes. These are four very unique, gnarly filters to explore in the new public beta.
Plus, you can explore new presets in the improved preset browser with new features and work with a better-looking GUI, and the plugin also works more efficiently with this update, says Polyverse.

Filters are omnipresent in music production. We know them from synthesizers, where you can find at least one in every subtractive synth. Same for the modular synth world. You can never have enough filters, especially in Eurorack.
Filters are also a great tool for classically editing and manipulating audio signals. You can do this very easily and affordably with free and commercial plugins. Polyverse Music has a new, exciting plugin that goes deep into filtering.
Polyverse Music Filterverse
Filterverse is a new filter plugin developed by Assaf Dar Sagol for macOS and Windows. Please don’t confuse it with Supermodal, another recently released filter plugin from Polverse Music.
Where Supermodal dives into unique resonating results, Filterverse is more traditional and offers a colorful bouquet of filter algorithms and types. According to Polyverse Music, it features algorithms inspired by classic synths, resonating bodies, and unique experimental-flavored ones.
The engine is powerful and flexible, offering a flexible routing system with up to three filter slots simultaneously. This means that three different filters can find a home in one patch, allowing for very wild mangling. These filters can be arranged in serial, parallel, or a combination of the two.
Then, you have independent dry/wet balance, phase-reverse, and mid-side processing per filter.
This filter construct is supported by a solid full-stereo modulation engine with eight different modulation sources. It includes a fully customizable LFO and sequencer, ADSR, envelope follower, randomizer, pitch detector, audio-rate oscillator, meta knob, and more.
Another highlight of the modulation engine is its ability to cross-modulate the source, which unlocks a wide range of complex patterns.
First Impression
At first glance, an exciting new filter plugin. What particularly stands out here is the possibility of using three filters at the same time and animating them with super flexible modulations. The plugin is currently beta. Not all filter types have been installed yet, I’m curious which ones you’ll find in the final version.
Polyverse Music Filterverse is available now for an introductory price of $79 instead of $149. It runs as a VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
The plugin is now in public beta, and Polyverse Music encourages feedback during the beta period on its community forums (forum.polyversemusic.com) and Discord. Beta testers will receive the full release at no additional cost.

some of the filters are so unique you cannot find anything remotely similar anywhere else!
I purchased this filter in its beta phase, and it was incredible then now it’s an absolute insanity of a plugin.
I’m a huge fan! the filters are just wild. there are some great videos on YouTube with the CEO showing crazy modulation options.
when these guys come out with a synth with these filters available per voice… that would be the quickest no trainer acquisition ever.
