Before Superbooth 2025, Larix Elektro unveiled three new modules: the Origami complex synth voice, the Time, and Canon modules.
I share something in common with the young French company Larix Elektro. We were SynthFest France debutants in 2023. I as a media, and Larix as a company. Two years later, the company has a variety of original modules in its portfolio. The most comprehensive to date is the Dual Undula oscillator.
Ahead of Superbooth 2025 and at SynthFest France, Raphael showed me a prototype of its new Origiami oscillator/synth voice. At SB, he will have an updated prototype plus two new modules.
Larix Elektro Origami
Origami is another original oscillator for Eurorack. More, it’s not just an oscillator, it’s an entire analog synth voice. Unlike classic subtractive synth voices, Larix Elektro takes a new West Coast path with the Origiami module.
It features an AS-3340-based triangle-core with optional sync, modulation, and FM. The module’s name comes from the origami folding technique, which only transfers to an oscillator. Instead of a filter, he added a frequency multiplier and wave folder circuit to fold the triangle wave up to eight levels.
Due to its analog circuitry, the feature set adds subtle variations that liven up the signal. So it’s not perfect like a digital oscillator. Next, you can find a quadrature LFO with a one-shot mode and an AR envelope generator.
To make the complex synth voice package perfect, it also includes a VCA that can be controlled with the envelope. Here is a first look at the Origami oscillator.
Larix Elektro Time & Canon
In addition to the new Origami prototype, Larix Elektro also showcased two other modules at Superbooth 2025.
Time is a new module that converts trigger and other signals into gate signals. You can control the gate length manually or by any CV signal. The module is designed to complement an envelope and, with its Start, End, CV, and RST inputs, can be used in various ways.
Then, Canon is a delay that can be applied to CV and gate signals. Gate or CV signals can be output with a delay of up to 16 steps relative to an incoming clock. You can use this to delay modulation or create trigger echoes.
The Canon module only has one knob and two buttons, making the operation super simple.
First Impression
Three exciting new modules from Larix Elektro. The Origami oscillator/synth voice is certainly the highlight. I already liked the module’s shaping possibilities and sound at SynthFest.
Larix Elektro Origami is in prototype status, and the price or availability is TBA. There is no price for Canon, either. Time will cost 110€.
