A new Mayer Vibes MD850 video tutorial by musician Synthmill showcases how to integrate the synth into an existing audio & MIDI setup.
The Mayer Vibes MD850, the compact version of the MD900 multi-timbral Synthesizer, has been shipping since last year. The instrument offers the same extensive synthesis capabilities as its big brother, including wavetable and VA synthesis.
The MD850 is more than just another wavetable synth. It’s also an entire groovebox that hosts a drum machine and Ableton Live-like pattern playback. One of the first users is the musician Synthmill. He sent me a video over Patreon showing how he integrated the MD850 into his setup.
In this new Mayer MD850 Vibes tutorial video, Synthmill demonstrates the internal audio and MIDI in detail. He explains how he uses the synth engine, MIDI connections, the internal drum machine, and the mixer with the FX racks.
He underlines the whole tutorial with a great intro and outro performance. Alongside the Vibes MD850, he used the Squarp Instruments HAPAX sequencer, Behringer Pro-1, and Kobol expander synths.
This is an excellent tutorial that makes it easier to get started with the Vibes synth and gives insights into how to work with it.
