Plugmon Anya is a new modern hardware-like skin for u-he Presswerk, a dynamics processor plugin with a musical soul.
In October 2024, I reported on Plugmon, a Japanese designer who develops alternative skins for u-he plugins. His skins give the plugins a new look and change the workflow. An absolute highlight is the Mona skin, which offers the u-he DIVA a new vibe.
In my opinion, the plugin has become more intuitive and faster for building patches. With Anya, Plugmon has also given U-he Presswerk an impressive style change.
Plugmon Anya
Anya is a new custom GUI (1260 x 700px) for the u-he Presswerk plugin. According to Plugmon, it’s designed to improve significantly its ease of use and versatility.
Right from the first glance, the design has been completely redesigned. Plugmon Anya gives the Presswerk plugin a very hardware-like appearance. Unlike the original GUI, Anya gives you access to all parameters, even in the special views of the new skin.
Plugmon has consolidated the main parameters into a rack-style hardware unit optic, while all the extra parameters are tucked under the main parameter in a new, modern, flat design.
Nice, you can toggle the display of the secondary parameters ON/OFF using the drawer toggle button. The built-in background image selection feature allows you to customize the background. Resetting the parameters with the home button returns you to the standard Anya GUI.
Are you a pro of u-he Presswork? If yes, Plugmon Anya also has a Force Swap function that allows you to change the view without resetting the parameters.
The designer says this is a forbidden feature and is recommended only for advanced users who understand the inner workings of Presswerk.
First Impression
If I had to choose between the original u-he Presswerk GUI and the new Plugmon Anya skin, I would happily choose the second one. I have the Presswerk plugin on my system, but it never satisfied me with how it works.
It is more beautiful to look at and intuitive to use because the parameters are more spaced and less crowded. I’m sure many prefer the original GUI. But it’s nice that there are such high-quality alternatives.
