Air Sub Factory is a new versatile Synthesizer plugin for MPC hardware and software (VST/AU/AAX) that produces rich and thick basses for your tracks.
A lot is going on at Akai this summer, especially with the upcoming release of MPC 3.0, which is currently in beta. This release was a big surprise, and the ecosystem grows and grows.
This shows the latest VST plugin and MPC plugin Sub Factory from Air Music Tech, an inMusic company.
Air Sub Factory
Sub Factory is a new Synthesizer plugin designed to create versatile, thick bass sounds. Air promises that it’s perfect for producers who appreciate the power of meticulously crafted bass lines.
The engine is extensive for a bass synth. It hosts two wavetable oscillators, each featuring hundreds of waves (127 index points) ranging from classic analog style and edgy digital to quirky sounds.
This is supported by a third sample-based engine with various built-in samples (kick, 808 loops, shots, noise…) and various customization options: sample start and sample delay, reverse, pitch, filter and more.
Then, the oscillators go into a mixer and, from here, into a multimode filter with multiple types. Of course, your classic controls (cutoff, resonance, morph, velocity…) are also onboard.
The modulation is classic with amp & filter envelopes and multi-wave LFO that can be mapped to different targets. A neat addition is a sidechain option in the dynamics section.
Air Sub Factory offers a multi-FX. On one side, you have effects like unison, spread, and width to supercharge your basses in richness. On the other, you also have more classic effects, like ring mod, chorus, drive, and EQ to refine them.
Further, the plugin comes with a solid library with ready-to-use sounds.
First Impression
A nice new bass-focused synth plugin that also runs on the MPC hardware. What’s particularly good is that it’s not just a simple rompler for bass sounds, but a complete synth. So you’re very flexible on how to sculpt your basses.
Air Sub Factory is available now for an introductory price of 40€ instead of 79,99€. It runs as a VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows. The purchase also includes a license for the MPC hardware.
It is compatible with the MPC One, One+, Live, Live II, X, and Key 37 & Key 61. The Sub Factory is not yet compatible with the Akai Force.
