Ahead of London Synth Expo, Erica Synths announced the Resonant Filterbank in a new desktop unit via Instagram story.

This coming weekend is packed with synthesizer events in the UK. Besides the Pro Synth Network Synth South West on Saturday, the London Synth Pedal Expo is also entering its next round.

Erica Synths will also be present, and Girts Ozolins, the founder, announced a new product ahead of the event via Instagram story: the Resonant Filterbank module (2024) as a desktop unit.

The new Resonant Filterbank is based on the Eurorack module of the same name. It brings the module’s functionality to a standalone desktop unit.

It has a stereo ten-band analog filterbank with digital control over each band’s boost or cut. Unlike the module, the Erica Synths Filterbank desktop lets you control each band individually with a dedicated slider. To get this in the module, you need the extra expander module, which gives knob control.

The desktop unit features the same complex control configurations, turning the filterbank into a unique multimode filter and, with various resonance settings, into an instrument in its own right.

The module lacks the extensive CV options of the desktop unit. To offer options similar to the desktop unit, Erica Synths has incorporated a modulation engine into the filter bank.

How extensive this is is unknown; however, the hardware has labels for macro, envelope mod, and LFO, suggesting it has LFOs, envelopes, etc. It also features a bigger screen than the 20HP and more control elements, making it more hands-on.

All details will follow soon. It’s great that they’re now putting this into a desktop unit. It’s a very niche product, but great to see an analog filterbank in this format.

Erica Synths Resonant Filterbank desktop unit will be showcased at the London Synth & Pedal Expo 2026. Price and availability TBA.

  1. Was LITERAL planning a small effects rack last night with this and Data Bender as the two biggest modules. I was lamenting that Resonant Filterbank isn’t yet a desktop module like some of their delays, reverbs, and filters.

  2. driving me nuts, this reminds me of an analog filterbank that I had back in the early 2000’s… I cannot remember the name of it. Rare as heck, pricy at the time. looked just like this with faders..sounded incredible.

  3. Erica Synths keep making these awesome boxes like this and the Zen Delay whose perfect role is to warm up the sound of budget digital synths, but they are too nice and so too expensive! If you can afford to spend close to a grand for a pedal chances are you already have high end gear that doesn’t need them to sound better.
