BeepStreet Sunrizer 4.52 is out now. A free update adds a new screaming Metalizer filter to the JP-8000-style soft synth for iOS/macOS.
The Sunrizer Synthesizer from Polish developer BeepStreet is one of the most popular synthesizers on iOS. Visually, it is very reminiscent of the Roland JP-8000, but it is a different beast in terms of features. However, it does include an emulated Super Saw.
It didn’t stop at iOS. With the introduction of Apple Silicon computers, Sunrizer can also be used on macOS (M computers) as a standalone and AUv3 plugin. Tip: dock the effects, and the GUI will immediately improve in the macOS plugin version. Today, you can explore a new Sunrizer update with new functionality.
BeepStreet Sunrizer 4.52
Sunrizer is a virtual analog Synthesizer with two multi-wave oscillators, including an emulation of the iconic SuperSaw. A highlight is the possibility of using two SuperSaw oscillators per voice. You also get two independent multimode filters with classic types but also less common ones like comb, formant, and frequency shifter.
The synth also offers two full ADSR envelopes with slope selection and two multi-wave LFOs. It also hosts a multi-FX processor with distortion, chorus, phaser, rotor, delay, EQ, and reverb to refine your sounds.
Another highlight of Sunrizer is the morphing functionality, which lets you continuously morph up to 30 parameters in a second using the modulation wheel.
Now, the update. Sunrizer 4.52 is a free update that adds an all-new metalizer filter to the engine. According to BeepStreet, it’s suitable for extreme sonic experiments. Another addition is an “all” section in the preset browser, allowing you to access all the presets in a single window.
Besides this, the update also fixes many bugs, including audio crackling when using multiple AUv3 instances.
First Impression
I’m happy to see that Sunrizer continues to be updated. The new metalizer filter sounds very aggressive and makes nice dirty sounds possible.
BeepStreet Sunrizer 4.52 is available now as a free download for existing users. Sunrizer is available now for $12,99 on the Apple AppStore. It runs as a standalone and AUv3 plugin on iOS (iPhone/iPad) and macOS (Apple Silicon only).

Still one of my favourite plugins when I need the sound of that famous blue synth from the late nineties in my mix….a welcome update!
Echoing plenty of other folks, Sunrizer is just a solid sounding and incredibly usable app. Don’t think it would be hard at all to record a great sounding synthy, electronica album with this. Just wish there was an easy-to-use VST version.
Easily also one of the worst and bug ridden apps I have used in a very long time. It sounds good when it actually works without crashing.
