Noise Engineering Opp Ned is a new four-channel arpeggiator module that outputs versatile CV-controllable patterns.
Sequencers are usually used as melody generators in Eurorack. Notes are programmed in, and off you go. But what about arpeggiators? They can also give beautiful, varied melodies. Well, arpeggiators are less of a topic in Eurorack than in keyboard synthesizers.
This may be because there aren’t that many dedicated arp modules. They are often found as an extra feature bonus in bigger sequencers. Noise Engineering wants to change that with its new module, Opp Ned.

Opp Ned is a new four-channel arpeggiator module with hands-on and CV control over your patterns in 8HP.
It ships with 12 of Noise Engineering’s favorite arpeggio patterns, including tetrads, major, pentatonic major, minor third, and pentatonic minor.
You can transpose these using the transpose CV input, making it easy to combine Opp Ned with external sequencers. If these don’t suit your musical taste, don’t worry.
Opp Ned allows you to edit and save custom arpeggios to twelve memory slots in the module. Once programmed, you can recall your custom arpeggios manually or with CV using the dedicated Ptn input.
And with the Noise Engineering Customer Portal, you to restore the factory arpeggios in no time.
First Impression
A nice practical module. Noise Engineering modules always tend to be a little more experimental. This one is definitely more on the classic side. If you want instant arpeggiators for your rack, this could be a very tempting module.
