In the latest Waveform podcast, YouTube star Mkbhd and its team look behind the scenes of Teenage Engineering and the EP-133 K.O II sampler.
From nobody to a digital superstar of the tech scene. Marques Brownlee, aka Mkbhd, has achieved this with his YouTube channel. Today, it has its own video production company with employees, dedicated production teams, etc. Okay, with 18.2 million subscribers and several other high-ranking channels, normal.
Mkbhd is best known for its reviews of the latest smartphones, laptops, tablets, etc. Almost not at all with music tech in the sense of synths, samplers, etc. However, not for the latest video. His team interviewed David Eriksson of Teenage Engineering on his Waveform podcast channel.
This week, we have another bonus episode! Adam sat down with David Eriksson of Teenage Engineering to chat about the EP-133 K.O. II sampler.
It was a great chat and we figured it would be a good opportunity to peel back the curtain on how some of these conversations go with people from certain companies. Hope you enjoy!
Waveform Podcast Teenage Engineering
The different approach to the interview is exciting in this case. When music tech interviews people like me, it usually goes into depth like features, making music etc. The Waveform podcast, on the other hand, went into the concept, production, etc. More the classic tech side than the music tech side.
It was nice to see the moment when David Eriksson himself addressed the fadegate and admitted that they made mistakes in the shipment, which they have corrected with the latest batches.
Same for the lovey talk about the development of the EP-133 K.O II. Find out how they came up with the idea, how long it took, and also that it is produced in Spain. And David confirmed that it will be a series with more future releases.
An exciting interview that I can recommend. Very entertaining and packed with interesting facts about Teenage Engineering
