HoRNet TreBande is a new free EQ plugin for macOS and Windows that captures the essence of vintage mixing console equalizers.

Christmas is the time of presents. Also for new free plugins from developers. Just yesterday Arturia released the Efx Refract effects plugin, which you can download for free until the beginning of January.

Different HoRNet. They just published a new vintage-inspired EQ plugin that is a free download forever.

HoRNet TreBande

TreBande is a new free EQ plugin that takes inspiration from vintage gear. More precisely, it faithfully emulates the three-band EQ of vintage mixing consoles.

HoRNet says that it’s meticulously crafted to mirror these hardware units’ sonic finesse and character. The EQ code is taken from the Cassette644 tape plugin, which was introduced in June.

It’s a straightforward plugin with a few traditional EQ controls, allowing you to shape your signals: low shelf, mid-band, mid-gain, and high shelf. There is also an option to change the oversample rate.

TreBande also offers an on/off toggle for activating an authentic vintage hiss emulation. So you can add more vintage character to your sounds. HoRNet’s new free plugin is not just an EQ but also a sound effect. It can add gentle saturation and warmth to any signal.

Further, the interface is fully adaptable and offers a dark and light mode.

First Impression

A nice, simple EQ plugin that HoRNet is giving us here before Christmas. Not groundbreaking new but a neat dead-simple EQ plugin.

HoRNet Plugins TreBande is available now as a free download. It runs as a 64-bit VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
