ValhallaDSP has released ValhallaRoom 2.0, a major free update for its popular reverb plugin, adding more space control.
We are in the Black Friday week, where we are overrun with the best plugin deals of the year. One company that doesn’t take part in this sale event is ValahallaDSP. This also eliminates whether ValhallaDSP is having a Black Friday sale. Nope. At $50 each, the plugins are always on sale.
No special sales, but Sean Costello has a surprise for its customers. Today, ValhallaDSP has published a major free update 2.0 for the ValahallaRoom reverb plugin.
ValhallaRoom 2.0
The new update for the ValhallaRoom is free of charge. Big like for that. It’s not the most significant update, but it introduces two new controls that make it more flexible to craft spaces.
The all-new space knob controls the amount of feedback around the pre-delay and early reflections. You can find this control in the dedicated early reflections section next to the diffusion knob.
Turning up the Space control allows you to dial a wide range of new timbres. You can use it to dial in diffuse and modulated echoes. Sean Costello of ValhallaDSP promises that the results are markedly different than what ValhallaRoom could do in the past.
The results range from early reflections with a more realistic short decay, metallic early resonances, and realistic small spaces up to lush modulated reverbs. ValahallaRoom 2.0 ships with new space presets to help get you started.
Then, the new update ships with a new low cut control (lo cut) in the left section of the GUI. You can use to cut out some of the low-frequency content in the reverb output, giving you less bass-heavy sounds. These features make the reverbs easier to integrate into a modern mix.

An excellent update for the ValhallaRoom plugin, which has been on the market since 2011. So 12 years of free updates, that’s what I call awesome support. Thanks, ValhallaDSP.
ValhallaRoom 2.0 is available now as a free update for existing customers. It is available for $50 and runs as a VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
