PSPaudioware has released PSP stepDelay, a new free creative delay plugin for macOS and Windows (VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX)
And the free plugin madness continues. A new day, a new free plugin. This time from Poland. To be precise, a former magazine-only plugin is now available to everyone for free and in updated form.
PSPaudioware has re-released the former PSP CM Delay as PSP stepDelay. It’s a free download for anyone with an active account.
PSPaudioware PSP stepDelay
PSP stepDelay is a creative delay plugin for macOS and Windows. The plugin is 100% free but offers the functionality of a commercial plugin.
It starts with the input section, where you can adjust the gain of the signal routed into the plugin. Then, you can tweak the delay time with a big knob on the right side. Alternatively, you can also use the tap functionality. With the glide knob, you can add smoothness to the delay times.
There is also a ping mode, adjustable feedback, and an option to adjust the stereo image. This allows you to distribute the delay in the stereo image better.
For more movement and flexibility in the delay sound, PSPaudioware also added a built-in multi-wave LFO with rate, spread, and depth controls. Plus, there are dedicated dry and wet controls.
On the bottom of the delay, it also features pedal-like switches to enable/disable the feedback and bypass the effect.
According to PSPaudioware, it is capable of generating a wide range of sounds:
from lush analog tape delays to crazy modulated ping-pongs. Realistic tape saturation, head cueing emulation and versatile control makes a usage of this plug-in a hypnotic experience and a long lasting pleasure.
First Impression
An excellent delay plugin with classic features. PSPaudioware is known for high-quality effects plugin releases so I am sure that this one is exactly on that level too. I can only say: don’t miss this new release.
