PSPaudioware PSP EasyVerb 2 is a major update for its algorithmic reverb plugin with new algorithms, features, and a free 1-algorithm version
It’s good to have a simple and intuitive reverb plugin that delivers perfect results in just a few steps. Many music producers have relied on the PSP EasyVerb for a long time. As the name suggests, it is an easy reverb.
After many years on the market, PSPaudioware has unveiled the PSP EasyVerb 2, the successor of its popular reverb plugin for macOS and Windows. Plus, there is a free version.
PSPaudioware PSP EasyVerb 2
The plugin features all nine original legacy algorithms, including ambiance, room, chamber, club, hall, arena, cathedral, spring, plate, and reverse. PSPaudioware added new alternative versions of each algorithm to PSP EasyVerb 2, giving you expanded creative options with their lush new tonalities.
Then, each algorithm in PSP EasyVerb 2 ships with three sizes: small, medium, and large. According to PSPaudioware, the medium setting matches the room size setting from PSP EasyVerb version 1. Combining the medium size with the legacy setting gives you the same sound as version 1.
Like the original plugin, the operation is very hands-on and straightforward. Each algorithm is fully adjustable with three main parameters: decay, damp, and pre-delay.
Decay controls the reverb time to shape the overall room character. Damp is a filter that gives you darker room simulations and pre-delay adjusts the delay before the reverb.
PSPaudioware PSP EasyVerb 2 also has a new 3-band semi-parametric equalizer (EQ). It offers upper and lower shelving bands (highpass/lowpass filters) and a peaking mid-band. You can shape the reverb’s frequency spectrum for precise tonal adjustments or to create drastic new effects.
The new version also ships with a wide range of factory presets.
PSPaudioware PSP Chamber
Great news for fans of free plugins: PSPaudioware has also released a free version called PSP Chamber.
It’s a stripped-down version of the PSP EasyVerb 2 with a single algorithm (Chamber) but with the same adjustable parameters. The GUI is also different, it’s not blue but red.
First Impression
This looks like a neat update for the popular EasyVerb algorithmic reverb. It’s great to see there is now a free version of it.
PSPaudioware PSP EasyVerb 2 is available now for an introductory price of $49 (regl $99) until December 31, 2024. It runs as a VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows. Existing users of PSP EasyVerb 1 can upgrade for $19.
PSPaudioware PSP Chamber is free for anyone with an active PSPaudioware account. To get access to the plugin open your user account.
