Lese Teuri is a new FX plugin that packs multiple distortions onto an XY grid, creating unique timbres by smoothly morphing them.
In recent years, Lese Audio has released some very original effects processors. For me, plugins that stand out. For example, in November 2025, they launched the Smear spectral FX, featuring 12 fascinating, unusual processors.
In their latest release, they have opted for a rougher, dirtier topic. Lese Teuri is a truly unique take on a distortion plugin.
Lese Teuri
Teuri is a new distortion plugin for macOS and Windows, but it doesn’t quite fit the classic distortion mold. Like every Lese plugin, Teuri offers a feature set that sets its appart from other tradtional overdrive/distortion plugins.
At its core is a Celluar Distortion system that places multiple distortion models at different points on an XY pad, letting you live in the tension between them.
It hosts colorful distortions, including analog circuit models and experimental processes with no vintage or modern hardware counterparts. Unique is the ability to smoothly morph/blend through them without snapping and quantization.
Simple travel through the grid and explore hybrid distortion types that don’t exist in any hardware unit. Lese says: ragged fuzz bleeding into clinical overdrive, and soft saturation collapsing into bitcrush.
The internal “Positional Blending” system makes this process super smooth, with no noticeable transitions. The “blender” also attempts to balance the gain differences between the models in real time.
Pre-Distortion Shaping
Before the signals go into the distortion blender, you have three additional sound-shaping/processing parts
Biasing adds super-low-frequency signals or even a DC offset to the sound, giving it movement when combined with the distortion. This can be freely moving or detected by the pitch, MIDI, and more.
Coloration boosts the signals using a filter. Then, distortion wave-shaping processes occur, and in the next step, the signal is inversely filtered. The harmonics added from the boosting remain in the signal.
The third and last processor is a resonator with two modes: single and cascade, with various adjustable controls. This can range from silent ringing to heavy self-resonating up to unpredictable textures.
Lese Teuri also features a modulation system with four modulators, which can be synchronized to the DAW’s BPM & retriggered by the DAW’s playback state. You can map the modulator to any parameter.
First Impression
An exciting distortion plugin with its own unique and multifaceted character. The pre-distortion shapers, in particular, add a lovely touch to the distortions.
Lese Teuri is available now for 55€. It runs as a VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
