Inear Display has updated its unique granular effect plugin Litote to 1.4 with an all-new interface design, better useability, and more.
Some developers run under the radar of many music producers with their plugins. That is the case with Inear Display. The developer has a portfolio of original plugins with an experimental touch.
Litote is Inear Display’s take on a granular effects processor with cool extras. Today, the developer, Thomas, published Litote 1.4, a free update for existing customers.
Inear Display Litote 1.4
Litote 1.4 introduces an all-new user interface that gives you more direct access to all the key functions of the granular processor. The visual difference is immediately noticeable. The previous interface was narrow and small. Now, it’s bigger and clearer to use.
There is also new internal pasteboard to copy data across granular engines. That’s a handy addition. The plugin was launched in 2017, long for a plugin. So it’s a good moment to summarize the key features of it.
Litote is a granular effect plugin with four audio engines that can turn any sound into a rich texture. They are based on granulators, resonators, and diffusion delays. With the help of the XY pad, you can morph the four audio engines together.
It is suitable for beginners and sound design experts. With the smart randomizer, you can quickly mix parameters and create different sounds using the XY pad. Alternatively, you can go deeper and design textures from scratch using the engine editor. Here you get full control over the processing parameters.

Plus, there is a trajectory mode in which Litote travels through these granular landscapes by itself. Further, all these features are MIDI controllable.

This a nice, very welcome update to the Litote FX processor. I am very happy that the developer is not finished yet.
Inear Display Litote 1.4 is a free update for existing customers. Litote is available now for 39€ + VAT. It runs as a 64-bit VST3 and AU plugin on macOS (Intel + Apple Silicon) and Windows.
