AudioThing has ported its small-format inspiring granular processor plugin Things Texture to iOS AUv3 and released a Linux version.

The AudioThing iOS and Linux plugin port marathon is entering the next round. Only on February 2nd, AudioThing released the fascinating Things Bubbles plugin in these new formats. Now Things Texture is also available for iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Linux.

This series of plugins fit perfectly on iOS as they are very feature-focused. Interfaces are pedal-like and only offer a limited set of controls, making them very hands-on and a pleasure to use.

AudioThing Things Texture

Things Texture for iOS is a 1 to 1 port of the plugin version. It’s an easy-to-use granular reverb plugin with pitch shifting and mid/side mode. The interesting part is certainly the second.

When the mid/side mode is activated, the granular effect is applied only to the side part of the input. This means the mid-level is lower on the level, a classic attenuation, and creates a special stereo width effect. However, the reverb is always applied on both mid and side parts. That’s a super handy addition.

The plugin takes its inspiration from techniques used in the soundtrack and sound design of the award-winning indie game The Swapper.

Features At A Glance

  • Granulator + Reverb.
  • Mid/Side Operation.
  • Granular Pitch Shifting.
  • Resizable Window.

Glad to see that AudioThing’s next creatively original plugin has landed on iOS and Linux.

AudioThing Things Texture is available now for 9€ instead of 19€ for a limited time. It runs as a 64-bit VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and CLAP plugin on macOS (Intel, native Apple Silicon), Linux, and Windows. The iOS version is out now for $2,99/3,49€ instead of $4.99/5.99€ until March 3rd, 2023.
