Igor Vasiliev has updated its advanced convolution reverb effect app AltiSpace 2 to v1.3 turning the app into a macOS AUv3 plugin.

Yes, you read it right. Another great Igor Vasiliev app creation made it to Apple Silicon Macs.  After I already reported that SpaceFields got an update with macOS support, the beloved AlitSpace 2 is now also available.

For those who don’t know: With the introduction of the Apple silicon architecture, i.e. M1/M2… iOS apps can run on macOS. But only if the developer unlocks them. So I’m all the more pleased that this app is also now available as a plugin for macOS.

The AltiSpace 2 v1.3 is out now and is a free update for all existing users. This update makes AltiSpace 2 a truly universal iOS and macOS application. Plus, you get an AUv3 plugin for your DAW. You can only benefit from this functionality if your favorite DAW supports this format. According to Igor, all features from the iOS version are available on macOS, including MIDI support, audio unit parameters, and importing IR files from any directory of the device.

What Is AltiSpace 2?

Such a big step is the perfect opportunity to look at the app again. AltiSpace 2 is a convolution reverb processor with advanced controls. It ships with a large built-in library of IR files of the most interesting vintage reverb devices. Alternatively, you can load in your own impulse responses for endless new timbres.

Then, you can shape the reverb timbres with an EQ, gate, ducking, modulation, and more. Pretty handy is the ability to save all this in presets, so you have tons of new reverbs to choose from. The AS2 Engine is, however, not limited to reverb IRs. You can import any audio sample and use it as an impulse response making the app a versatile sound design tool.

It runs on iOS (iPhone/iPad) and macOS on Macs with M1/M2 chips as a standalone application and an AUv3 plugin. The following DAWs support the format: Ableton Live, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Cockos Reaper, Plogue Bidule, etc.

The new AltiSpace 2 v1.3 update is free of charge for existing customers. The app is available now on the Apple AppStore and is on sale for 7,99€ for a limited time.
