Superbooth 22: Befaco AC/DC is a compact open-source 4×4 USB audio interface for your Eurorack modular Synthesizer.
Many Eurorack musicians not only work in the studio but also travel a lot with their cases. To record sounds or live sets on the go you need an audio interface or a field recorder.
Befaco has presented a module for the Superbooth 22 that can help here. And it could also open new possibilities to process sounds with other devices.
Befaco AC/DC
Highway to hell, dum dum.. highway to hell… Sorry, we’re not talking about the band. AC/DC is in this case, a new open-source DC-coupled USB audio interface module with 4 input and 4 output channels for Eurorack. It is based on the new Rebel Tech Xibeca hardware platform that provides 16bit/48kHz audio quality.
The module is very useful for mobile setups and travel since it takes up only 6HP in the rack, has only 40 mm depth, and represents a full interface. It also provides compatibility with the OWL platform. This allows you to go expand the module functionalities. Perfect for musicians with a nerd factor.
Looks like a super handy module. I hope it works with iOS too so you could route your sounds in iOS apps, process them and route them back in the rack.
Befaco AC/DC will be available on June 3rd, 2022 for 300€ + VAT in an assembled version or 170€ + VAT for the DIY kit. The module is ready for pre-order.

Looks like it does work with iOS according to the product page: “It is compatible with all popular DAW and CV generators, and also as audio and CV processor for iOS apps”. This makes it extremely valuable.
