Buchla 200 series makes a full size comeback as classic reissue series

The iconic Buchla 200 series modules originally created by Don Buchla makes a full size comeback as classic reissue series and are available now 

With the TipTop Audio collaboration, Buchla USA has managed to offer the 200 series in Eurorack at unprecedented affordable prices. The 258t oscillator is already available for $200/200€. Yes, a Buchla modular synthesizers for everyone thanks to mass-production.

Today the company announced that the 200 series modules are also returning in full size as classic reissues series. Significantly more expensive but fully compatible with other Buchla synthesizers. The first wave of modules is already available.

Buchla 200 Full Size

For the first time in over 40 years – Buchla has reissued classic 200 series modules – the very modules that defined West Coast synthesis. The first 7 modules are available now in our online store! More modules will be reissued very soon!

Buchla 200 Classic Reissue Series

The Buchla 200 Classic Reissue is based on the original full-size designs, similar to the approach taken by Moog with their modular reissues or Sequential with the its Prophet 5. Users get here full-sized modules with all the same functionality of the original including a matching look.

These reissues are fully compatible with modern Buchla cases and can also be patched to 200e modules. So the classics and the moderns can create together wild, unusual sounds in the same home. According to the company, they collaborated with Roman Filippov of Black Corporation and Joshua Holley of Malekko (Dark Place) for making these first wave of modules possible.

Buchla says that “these modules represent the most authentic and accurate recreations of the original Buchla 200 series ever made, approaching the classic circuits with modern build techniques, while remaining faithful to Don Buchla’s original vision at the time.”
