Decomposer Sitala is a free drum sampler plugin (PC/Mac/Linux) and version 1.0 is now available with beat slicing, AAX support & more.
I like to report on free plugins, especially when developers invest a lot of time in projects. Like Vital, which is on the same level as the other wavetable Synthesizer plugins but available for free. Crazy what Matt Tytel put into this project. Decomposer also makes its free drum sampler feature richer and better from version to version.
Now the free sampler plugin reached version 1.0 and that has to be celebrated.
Decomposer Sitala 1.0
Sitala features 16 drum pads and for each drum a set of 6 controls: shape, two-octave tuning, volume, compression, tone, and pan. The control surface is very minimal but the engine allows you to create a wide range of sounds. The shape knob sweeps from everything from glitchy micro-house to pumping atmospheric sounds. The tone-knob single-handedly covers most of the territory that’d normally be achieved with a parametric EQ. Uniquely, each of its controls provides immediate visual feedback to see exactly what’s being done to the sound in use
In version 1.0, the developer upgraded its plugin once again with a lot of new creative features. Sita now features customizable sample starts and end points but also automatically detects poorly cut samples with leading silence. The engine places the play head at the point where the sample starts and not just the point where the file starts. A function that is known from commercial samplers, now also in Sitala
Beat Slicing
The new version also introduces a beat slicing functionality that automatically finds the start and end points in sounds with multiple drum hits. Once sliced, the function lets you pick either individual drum hits, or to play the entire sample. You can even go one step further and slice each individual drum hit to its own pad. So you can trigger each part of the loop separately.
Further, Sitala now integrates perfectly with the Reaper DAW by offering users a multi-output mode. Activate the multi-output mode in Reaper and Sitala will automatically switch into the multi-out mode and keep the track names in sync. This makes it easy to add additional processing to each drum pad in Reaper. Another big highlight is the support of the plugin format AAX. This means you can now load the plugin in Pro Tools without a wrapper.

All in all, a big update for the free drum sampler plugin Sitala. Don’t miss this free plugin.
Decomposer Sitala is available now as a free download for PC, Mac & Linux in VST, AU & AAX plugin format.
