These New Reaktor 6 Ensembles From The Month November Are Great

November is already over and the year 2017 is drawing to a close. Also in November, many indie developers and musicians released many interesting free blocks and ensembles for the Reaktor 6 modular software Synthesizer. Here is an overview of the best new releases. Updates of already released blocks or ensembles are not included here.

Semißlock – Virtual VC semi modular Synthesizer in a cabinet by Moshe Banano

Semißblock is a full synth with envelop, LFO and stereo ms delay FX in one block. This a semi-modular as long as you use it as it is, but it’s a block so if you feed the AB inputs with more modulators it becomes a fully modular synth.

You can also feed more blocks of Oscillators with the ENV{AB}, P, G, PB, CC# outports to be controlled by this synth. With the latest update, the developer added a send port to the LFO and a morphing knob between the shapes Tri/Sine.

2D and 3D Attractor Blocks – Modulate with attractors by Roy

The very unique block is a very special modulation block that works with attractors uploaded by Franz Baureis and complied into core cells and limited the the outputs to the 0-1 range.

Attractors are erratic wonders, providing a wide range of modulation styles. The shapes of the output can vary drastically when frequency and smoothing are changed. This seems especially true of the 2D attractors- High frequencies with no smoothing result in fractal like shapes whereas low frequencies with only a small amount of smoothing will produce uncertain and more linear stepped modulation. Some of the attractors have parameters that will be available to the right of the selection list (Sorry about the shortened names. No space!).

Reset will initialise the attractor whilst also resetting the min/max values for scaling into the 0-1 range. If you’re seeing no movement from an attractor then try a reset and turn up the frequency.

Attractor Playground: Roybox 11 – Noise making with Strange Attractor by Roy

Attractor Playground is a self-contained noise machine and experimental instrument. Roybox 11 uses the innards of my attractor blocks to modulate an 8 voice oscillator. The 2D and 3D attractors run simultaneously, providing five signals which modulate numerous parameters. There are three oscillator choices. BASIC is a simple sin/saw/pls/tri/imp oscillator, MICRO is a modified version of Sandy Small’s Microwave oscillator and AKWF is a cross-fading wavetable oscillator using the Adventure Kid single cycle Waveforms.

Voice delay is driven by the 2D attractor and provides stereo variations. The signal path ends with a simple feedback delay along with the R60L reverb created by Martijn Zwartjes/lAZyfISh. I’ve included snapshots for all the 3D attractors. Some of the attractors have parameters that will be available to the right of the selection list. Reset will initialise the attractor whilst also resetting the min/max values for scaling into the 0-1 range. If you’re seeing no movement from an attractor then try a reset and turn up the frequency.

Quarp – Arpeggiator /Quantizer hybrid By Emanuele Maraschini

Emanuele Maraschini latest ensemble for the Reaktor 6 Synthesizer is Quarp, a versatile block that can behave as classic Arpeggiators, or as a hybrid quantizer / arpeggiator.

It keeps track of incoming MIDI notes and allows to arpeggiate them on a clock input, or to use the audio in to select one of the available note CV on the output

Brown – Brown walk CV generator by Grant Partridge

Brown performs a random walk. Each time it receives a positive gate it outputs a voltage shifted from the previous voltage by a random step as dictated by the Bias and Spread knobs.

If the output hits -1 or 1, the voltage resets to 0 and a gate is sent to either the Roll- or Roll+ outputs accordingly.

Town – Trigger burst generator by Grant Partridge

Town creates a community of triggers upon receiving a gate.

The amount of triggers in the community can be modified with the Threshold and Density controls, while the temporal spread can be controlled with Attack and Release.
