Arturia Delay TAPE-201
As a reminder, Delay TAPE-201 is an authentic emulation of the Roland RE-201 Space Echo hardware unit from the past. It has all the features of the original, including various modes, repeat rate, intensity, echo time, reverb amount, bass, treble, and more.
The plugin’s strength is the modern extension, which allows for a more contemporary use. For example, it offers a built-in multi-wave syncable LFO to alter with 16 possible destinations. So, you can alter the reverb amount with the LFO.
There is also a stereo upgrade to explore. Delay Tape-201 offers three delay types (left/right, ping pong, and mid/side) with processing in stereo with independent repeat rates. Of course, you can also create unique stereo field modulations using the LFO.
Another new addition is the clever input equalizer (EQ), which allows you to shape the input signal perfectly with highpass and lowpass filters.
Further, you can modify the character and age of the emulation using the flutter, motor inertia, and noise controls. Here, you can create your own Space Echo emulation with its own state, whether it is in top condition or broken.
