Modulation FX plugins are widely used. Classic mod effects apply a single effect to the entire signal.
United Plugins Duoflux, developed in collaboration with SounDevice Digital, takes a different approach, offering two independent effects simultaneously.

Duoflux is a new modulation FX plugin featuring two independent modulation units within a single interface. According to United Plugins, Duoflux enables complex movement and depth by processing signals separately or in various combinations.
Each modulation unit is independent and offers 17 algorithms, including vintage and modern chorus, modern rotary, tremolo, phaser, and more. Each algorithm is customizable with three parameters: width, feedback, and character.
The unique power of Duoflux lies in how it splits signals, allowing them to be processed separately or combined.
The signal is distributed to the two modulation units based on a crossover, which can be set to frequency, volume, stereo, or mid/side.
Neat is the built-in specific dynamic split that allows you to apply different modulation settings to the quieter and louder parts of the audio signal independently. That’s not enough modulation juiciness.
Each modulation unit features a dedicated tape section with controls for saturation, wow, flutter, and noise to introduce vintage character. The engine also includes low-pass and high-pass filters, controllable via a visualizer.
In addition, United Plugins Duoflux features two independent modulation units with precise control over the rate, depth, width, and character. Plus, you can adjust the LFO shapes ranging from sine to square.
Further, you have classic dry and wet mix and output controls. The plugin supports up to 8x oversampling and ships with a wide range of factory presets.
First Impression
At first glance, a beautiful modulation plugin with some unique features. At the current price of $15, I don’t think you can go wrong. And even better, if you buy it from AudioDeluxe or Plugin Boutique, you also get a second plugin.
United Plugins Duoflux is available now at an introductory price of 15€, down from 79€, until the end of February 2025. It runs as a VST, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
