TugMoveEffect

TugMoveEffect is a new free multi-FX processor plugin for macOS and Windows with a unique 2D positioning concept.

Like traditional multi-FX processors, it offers a range of effects, more precisely 13 different algorithms: distortion, reverb, delay, chorus/flanger, filter, compressor, pitch shifter, decimator, phaser, vibrato, tremolo, repeater, and ring modulator.

Each effect processor offers various tweakable parameters. In a typical multi-FX plugin, effects are arranged in a signal chain from left to right. Here, it’s different.

In TugMoveEffect, you place multiple effects instances on a 2D workspace and control their influence through distance-based mixing (spatial mixing). A movable control point determines how much each effect contributes to the final sound based on its proximity.

You can create up to 10 effect instances with three slots per effect type, each with independent parameters.

Another element of the processor is the listener point, which you can manually position within the workspace. It’s also possible to take this to a crazier, experimental level with the built-in automation modes.

The 16-step sequencer mode lets you create rhythmic patterns by switching effects on a per-step basis. This can be customized to the point where you can freely assign the effects to each step.  Plus, they can have a custom pattern length and playback direction.

Additionally, you have a sinusoidal mode and a bouncing control that behaves like a bouncing ball. All settings can be saved as patches in the built-in browser, with support for custom folders.

First Impression

Tugrulakyuz’s new multi-FX is another very exciting and inspiring free plugin that explores new ways to create/manipulate sounds.

TugMoveEffect by Tugrulakyu is available now for free download. It runs as a VST3 plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.
