Weston Precision Audio PRO2021 MKII is a feature-rich DIY clone of the Sequential Pro-One analog Synthesizer.

With the Pro-1, Behringer offers a very authentic, great-sounding clone/replica of the Sequential Pro-One in its portfolio for a low price.

As an alternative, there was the Weston Precision Audio PRO2021, also a clone of this Dave Smith classic with a keyboard and DIY. This clone is now entering its second round. At Knobcon 2025, West Precision showcased the PRO2021 MKII, a new version of the Pro-1 clone.

Weston Precision Audio PRO2021 MKII

PRO2021 MKII remains an all-analog clone/replica of the Sequential Pro-One Synthesizer from 1981.

Like the original Pro-One, it features two oscillators, a lowpass filter, two envelopes, LFO, sequencer, and more. Unlike the vintage synth, the PRO2021 MKI and MKII have MIDI support.

The improvements on the new MKII version primarily concern the hardware—bye-bye to plastic case, cheap knobs, buttons, and keyboards.

According to West Precision Audio, they completely remade the MKII hardware with a new metal panel, better potentiometers with metal shafts, and high-quality shafts.

Plus, there are improved switches and a better keyboard with aftertouch for controlling the filter and pitch. There are also improvements on the inside.

The PRO2021 MKII will be easier to assemble, and there will be no internal cabling necessary. Also, they improved the circuitry so it produces less noise. The layout remains the same but offers a new section for the aftertouch routing.

Here are two demos of the previous PRO2021 MKI.
