Donner Versa Yellow Fall 2, new budget-friendly stereo delay reverb combo pedal

Donner Versa Yellow Fall 2 is a new, affordable stereo delay and reverb pedal with various modes and hands-on control.

In the age of Amazon, Aliexpress, etc., there are tons of dirt-cheap pedals. Delay pedals are particularly popular. One of my first in this area was the Donner Yellow Fall Delay, which costs around 30€. I like to use it with mono analog synths. Here is my review of it.  

Donner has become more active in the last years with their first Synthesizer, drum machine, and multi-FX processor release. The Yellow Fall Delay has now also received a major makeover. 

Donner Versa Yellow Fall 2 

Versa is the new Yellow Fall 2 pedal with a massive feature boost. Unlike the delay-only v1, the new Donner Versa Yellow Fall 2 is full stereo, has an all-metal shell design, and offers both delay and reverb in a pedal.

Both delay and reverb have three modes and can be used independently. The delay offers the algorithms Echo, Digital, and Vintage. Then, the reverb section offers Hall, Room, and Plate programs. 

Versa Yellow Fall 2 gives you six knobs: delay (volume, tone color, repeats) and reverb (volume, decay) and three switches for hands-on control.  The left and right switches allow you to switch the algorithms on the fly for each section.

The Donner Versa Yellow Fall 2 has built-in preset storage. You can save up two presets in the pedal and recall them with the middle switch. 

Further, it hosts two tap modes: tap tempo (default) and totap LiveTAP tempo mode. Donner promises the pedal has a low-noise buffer bypass that reduces signal loss.  

First Impression

At first glance, it is an interesting further development of the Yellow Fall 1 Delay. You can’t expect everything in a +/- $100 budget pedal, but it’s nice that it’s stereo and can do both effects simultaneously. MIDI, on the other hand, is completely missing.
