NANO Modules ST Font is a new stereo multimode filter module for Eurorack with a built-in saturation VCA circuit.
Font module from the Spanish company NANO Modules is a great-sounding and affordable analog multimode filter module.
Now, they continue their analog filter circuits in the stereo field with the extended feature set.
NANO Modules ST Font
ST Font is a new stereo filter based on the circuit of the NANO Modules FONT module but expanded into the stereo filtering field.
The module consists of two independent filter cores (black/white knobs) for the left and right channels. Each core offers lowpass, bandpass, and highpass modes with seamless crossfading between the filter outputs.
You can control both cutoff and resonance parameters with dedicated knobs. Resonance comes with different dynamic resonance modes, giving different flavors.
Mild delivers classic filtering with a smooth and musical resonance, while Wild pushes it to its limits. Here, you experience heavy, distorted, aggressive sounds, bringing an extra touch and edge to your signal.
A highlight of the new NANO Modules ST-Font is its built-in stereo VCA with soft clipping. This neat feature adds warmth and harmonic richness to your sound, ranging from classic, clean amplification to juicy, heavy saturation.
Another neat addition is the stereo span controls. You can find dedicated frequency, resonance, and mode span knobs that allow you to create a wide, immersive stereo field.
Further, it offers CV control over every parameter, including mode for modulated crossfading effects. The signals go on a stereo input and a stereo output on two mono sockets each, in and out of the module.
First Impression
For $199, you get a very comprehensive stereo filter with many tweaking options. From the first demos, the module sounds excellent.
