Superbooth 24: Korg announces Korg Collection 5, an update for its emulation package with the new ARP 2600, EP-1, and VOX Super Continental
In May at Superbooth 24, Korg announced the Korg Collection 5, an update to their growing virtual instrument package.
The bundle is now available with a special introduction offer.
KC5
As announced in May, the bundle includes three new plugins: the ARP 2600, VOX Super Continental, and EP-1. With these news, the bundle now includes 14 synthesizers, two effects processors, and one drum machine.
In addition to the new plugins, it still includes emulations of the MS-20, Mono/Poly, M1, TRITON, microKORG, ARP Odyssey, and more.
The new ARP 2600 is an authentic emulation of the original hardware units, with extra features. It’s 16-voice polyphonic and has a second filter, a drive section, new modulation sources, an advanced sequencer, a multi-FX processor, extensive MIDI control, and more.
Then, the VOX Super Continental is a software reproduction of the famous combo Corgan, which first appeared in the 1960s. Also with extra goodies, including an effects processor.
The third and last addition is the EP-1, a plugin that models electric piano that first appeared in the 1960s. This is, however, has a famous engine. It’s based on the MDS (Multi-Dimensional Synthesis) technology developed for the Korg Kronos and Nautilus workstation. So now as a plugin.
Korg Collection 5 is available now for an introductory price of 335€ (25% OFF) instead of 449€ from the official Korg Shop or retailers. The plugins are also available as individual purchases at an introductory price of 113€ instead of 169€ (32% OFF).
The official store also offers various upgrades, including upgrading from KC4 to KC5 for $99 or KC3 to KC5 for $149. The promotion is valid from July 19th to August 18th, 2024.

Plugins that emulate synthesizers and other instruments are popular among music producers. The V Collection from Arturia is a very well-known bundle. The Korg Collection is the “counteroffer” from the Japanese company Korg. Of course, packed with synths and instrument from their product vintage and modern catalog.
There is a new bundle version on the horizon. For Superbooth 24, Korg previews the Korg Collection 5 bundle with three new plugins.
Korg Collection 5
The new Korg Collection 5 is not yet on the market. But you can get a foretaste at Superbooth 24. Korg Collection will feature three new plugins.
The Highlight will be an authentic emulation of the ARP 2600 Synthesizer. According to the official press, they spend months examining every detail of the originals and the current diagrams. Okay, that always works for emulations.
Korg promises that this is the only ARP 2600 plugin that can authentically reproduce all 100 sounds from the original 2600 patch book. It’s a promise, so let’s see if it’s the case. They also added anti-aliasing techniques to guarantee premium audio quality.
KORG Collection 5 ARP 2600 will offer both classic modifications and completely new modules while maintaining the original instrument’s distinctive character and design philosophy.
Other new instruments will be authentic emulations of the EP-1 electric piano and the VOX Super Continental e- organ. Ok, two plugins that don’t catch me as much, but maybe you’re out there.
Korg Collection 5 will be available in early Summer 2024. This year, Korg will have a booth (E100) at Superbooth 24, where you can already check out the ARP 2600 plugin. Stay tuned for all details in Summer 2024.

Korg is doing great work with their back catalog. I look forward to them working on the PS3100, either in hardware or VST form.
I love Korg, have done for decades – hardware and software – but this is perhaps the cheesiest demo music since the halcyon days of the Roland D-series demo sequences 🙂
Excellent demo, smooth jazz and musicianship return! 😀 Just upgraded my Korg Collection, looking forward to hearing how this new 2600 software compares to my original 1976 Model ‘2601’…thank you, Korg!
This music makes me ashamed to own synthesizers.
@Wilson, no shame in needing to practice if your skills aren’t up to it?;) Unless your intent is to shame or insult a style of music not your own, then I’d question your motive? Maybe you’re a better and smarter person than some of the synth players here that really like that demo, and you can explain to us what’s wrong with our music…
The Arp 2600 plugin sounds very good.
The Vangelis patch at 27:30 with the built in cathedral reverb as icing on the cake, sold me…got the $99 upgrade. Video by Ian Dixon.
