Superbooth 24: WMD unveiled the Performance Mixer MKII, the long-awaited stereo mixer for Eurorack with 8 stereo channels, MIDI, and more.
In the summer of 2022, we received the news that WMD was leaving business. But for a short time only. Then came the turning point. WMD has been taken over, and activity continued. One year later at Superbooth 23, they unveiled the Performance Mixer MKII as a prototype, a module that many are waiting for.
This year at Superbooth 24, WMD showed the production unit with a major redesign compared to the 2023 prototype.
WMD Performance Mixer MKII
The Performance Mixer MKII is a new eight-stereo-channel Eurorack mixer that can operate as an eight-stereo or dual mono (16) input mixer. If that’s not enough, you can expand it up to 24 channels.
A highlight is the ability to control the parameters with CV, opening up new ways to control your tracks. Unlike the Performance Mixer MKI, the new MKII has MIDI support with MIDI CC out for the pan, level, AUX1, and AUX2 positions. This allows you to capture your mix in your DAW.

First Impression
At first glance, it’s a very comprehensive stereo mixer. MIDI, in particular, takes the whole thing to a new level. The design and many features remind me greatly of the Boredbrain Music Xcelon, which has a similar design and structure.
At $1499, the WMD Performance Mixer MKII is a very high-priced module with many features that have yet to be shown whether they are worth the money. I’m looking forward to the first user reviews.
