Roland bundles the Zenology Pro Synthesizer plugin with all five Model Expansions (Juno-106, Jupiter-8…) in a new lifetime key Collection.
ZEN-Core is the engine and the ecosystem that the Japanese company is currently using. Whether hardware or software, it is used everywhere. If you are a user of the recent Juno-X/Jupiter-X/XM synthesizers or the Fantom workstation lineup, you benefit most from it.
Mainly because you can exchange sounds between the software and hardware but also upgrade your hardware synths with new engines. These are the Model Expansions based on vintage synth classics. Since not everyone wants to subscribe to the Roland Cloud, Roland also offers its plugins with lifetime keys. Today, Roland introduced a new collection with which you go all-in ZEN-Core.
Roland Zenology Pro Collection
The Zenology Pro Collection bundles the flagship Zenology Pro plugin and all five separately available Model Expansions.
As a reminder, Zenology Pro is a Synthesizer plugin based on Roland’s ZEN-Core Synthesis engine. You can find it in their latest hardware synthesizers but also plugins. It mixes multiple synthesis types, combining vintage Roland oscillators and filters with PCM waves capable of sync and cross-modulation.
It’s a multi-layer instrument with up to four layers, each containing a multi-voice oscillator, multi-type filter, amplifier, dual LFOs, and effects. In addition, you can load the Model Expansions into the Zenology Pro. These are interchangeable engines based on vintage synthesizers and can also be used in the respective hardware synths. This is the Fantom lineup and the Juno-X/Jupiter XM/X.
