Superbooth 23: Zoom UAC-832 is a new 8-channel audio & MIDI interface and the latest addition to its new 32-bit float product lineup.
32-bit is a scorching topic in audio recording. Zoom has jumped on this train for a long time. With the UAC-232, the Japanese company released the first 32-bit audio/MIDI interface this year.
For Superbooth 23, Zoom announces the UAC-832, the next audio/MIDI interface with 32-bit float
Zoom UAC-832
The new Zoom UAC-832 is a new 8-channel rack audio interface. It features 8 XLR/TRS combo jack inputs, each with selectable phantom power (48V), and on two inputs with additional Hi-Z.
It will be based on Zoom’s 32-bit float recording technology, along with sample rates up to 192kHz allowing you to process audio at an increased bit-depth and at full bandwidth. All of this is done without the need to set gain. The advantage of this is that you have more headroom and the signals can no longer easily overdrive.
Then, it offers direct monitoring with a front panel level potentiometer, a MIDI status screen, two dedicated big jack headphone sockets, and a main out.
You will find dedicated outputs and a MIDI interface with a MIDI input and output on the back. The full feature set is not yet known, it’s more of a teaser on what Zoom is currently working on.
First Impression
After the Zoom UAC232 release, this is a logical next step for expanding its audio interface range with 32-bit float.
Zoom UAC-832 will be available in Q4 2023 and the price is TBA. Zoom will be at Superbooth 23 at booth Z290.
