Article From February 5th, 2023

For a long time, there were no signs of life from Native Instruments regarding updates. But for a few months, things have been going on step by step. Recently plugins like the FM8, Massive, Massive X, Kontakt 6/7, Guitar Rig 6, and Battery 4… got native Apple Silicon M1 and VST3 support.

Another plugin, a very community-driven one, will get this update soon as well.

The update has made a big detour. but soon, it will be available for everyone—Reaktor 6.5.0 is here. Okay, almost. The update is currently in open beta and will be released.

It is an update that many users have been waiting for for a long time. Two highlights: Reaktor 6.5.0 brings VST3 support for macOS and Windows. Why it took such a long time for such a big company like Native Instruments to bring Reaktor to VST3 remains a mystery. But I say finally. We’ve been waiting for this for a long time.

Second big news: the new Reaktor update will have native Apple silicon support. This step also took a long time. Native Instruments is among the last to offer Apple silicon support. Don’t forget that all your favorite Reaktor instruments and effects will automatically get VST3 and Apple Silicon support with this update. So Monark and others.

I’m pleased to see that one of the best plugins from Native Instruments now gets the two features.

The new Native Instruments Reaktor 6.5.0 update will be available soon. It’s now in beta, and you can participate by joining the Center Code platform.

  1. Here are more detailed thoughts. I recently bought the new Arturia Rev LX-24 reverb (29€) for my Windows 7 system. The plugin is very good, it is VST3 and works without any problems. In fact all the Arturia plugins are fully compatible, I never had any issues.
It is quite environmental-friendly to use old hardware / OS as long as possible and expect from software developers to keep updating and optimizing their software also for established customers.
But Berlin Native Instruments hipsters decided to kick me out, no more updates. They probably have not enough time for old customers like me, who started with Komplete 8. They need all their energy for gender-neutral language and glueing themselves to the streets of Berlin these days. My answer is simple and environmental-friendly again, Komplete 13 was the final NI product, that I have bought.

    • wo rightwing myth on spot in an article about ni reaktor beta…you honks must feel some serious pressure…
      as if firstly
ni has anything to do with last gens politicla actions
      and secondly
they have to check EVERY word inside every plugin in order to the handfui of gendered words into a software…

      try harder next time

i arhter would like to have resizeability implemented and for all OLD plugisn too. and i would pay moneys for THAT asa ni14 than the actual useless megahoard of loops and pseudoplugins with fancy gfx
