Caelum Audio Flux Pro: a new multi-fx modulation plugin for macOS, Windows, and iOS powered by 4 mod graphs and 10 different effects.
Almost two weeks ago, Caelum Audio released Flux Mini 2, a free multi-FX plugin for macOS, Windows, and iOS. Don’t miss it, it’s a plugin that makes a lot of fun.
Today the developers released Flux Pro, the big version of the plugin. With more features and depth.
Caelum Audio Flux Pro
Flux Pro is a multi-fx modulation plugin. Yes, it’s all about bringing movement and effects into interaction. The concept is the same as in the free Flux Mini 2 plugin but in a significantly expanded and more versatile form. It features three fully-customizable graphs for modulation in which you can either draw your own shapes or drag one of the 48 preset shapes onto them.
The Pro version has 4 effects slots with 10 different effects. Including 2 filters, 2 delays, width, phaser, chorus/flanger, rate and ring modulation, and a utility effect. For each effect, you can also adjust precisely the parameters. Just as you know it from a classic multi-effect, only more exciting here thanks to the modulation engine.
Another highlight of the plugin is the advanced MIDI functionality that the Caelum Audio developers added. It can be triggered via MIDI in either one-shot or retrigger modes. Then it can also output modulation graph signals as MIDI CC or CV to trigger external plugins and synths. So wild and crazy modulations for your synths. This is a very creative feature and I can imagine that it will be a lot of fun. Caelum Audio has an example of how you can use it:
Try shaping the Ring Modulation’s frequency and harmonic amount to add mechanical flavors to your bass. Or maybe create some ethereal vocal delays by programming audio reverses an octave up with Fixed Delay’s sample control. Then, apply a slow sine to the other Delay’s time and feedback controls to create more movement.
iOS With AUv3
Good news for iOS musicians. Flux Pro is also available for iPad and iPhone in a standalone and AUv3 version. The app version has the same functionality as the VST version. And thanks to AUv3 support, you can use it multiple instances on your mobile setup.
The developers ship the plugin with 115 ready-to-use plugins to make getting started easier. Flux Pro is made for transforming your sounds into colorful, characterful, and dynamic tracks. It is capable to create a wide range of effects: subtle changes to give life to your tracks, making weird, crazy glitch effects, sidechains, and more.
A lovely, easy-to-use multi-fx modulation plugin. I particularly like the possibility of sending out MIDI CC or CV, which makes it very versatile. And for the iOS version, it gets another like.
Caelum Audio Flux Pro is available now for an introductory price of £29,99 (reg. £49,99) for the next 14 days. The plugin runs as a VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS and Windows. The iOS version is out now for an intro price of $6.99 USD (40%) and runs as a standalone app and AUv3 plugin.
as a free download for macOS, Windows, and iOS. It runs as a VST3, AU, and AAX plugin and as an AUv3 on iOS.
