Bjooks’ new book “Inspire The Music” packs Roland ‘s 50-year history of inspiration and innovation into 400 illustrated pages.
In our fast-paced digital world, there is something unique about books. They require no electricity, no dongle, no screen, don’t have a comment function, no like/dislike button… You can open it at any time and browse comfortably… Without fear of an annoying pop-up or other things that distract from reading.
Kim Bjørn has shown with his impressive books in recent years that musicians are also interested in well-researched literature about synthesizers, pedals, and electronic music. His new book is coming out this summer.
Inspire The Music, Roland History
Kim Bjørn dedicates his new book “Inspire The Music” to the impressive story of Roland which is full of inspiration and innovation. They will celebrate the culture, people, and technology of the Japanese company with a visual journey through the last 50 years.
The book will feature more than 70 colorful interviews with world-renowned artists and Roland designers, discussing their relationships with the instruments and making music. The book offers deep insights into the worldwide Roland culture, and a timeline traces Roland’s history from its humble beginnings under founder Ikutaro Kakehashi to its current place as a worldwide leader in music technology.
In addition to the people, Inspire The Music showcases the gear that inspired them. Gear fanatics and curious newcomers alike will enjoy illustrated stories about product lines, popular machines, quirky products, and more.
Kim Bjørn (founder & CEO Of BJOOKS) Says:
We’re extremely excited to launch INSPIRE THE MUSIC this summer, with the blessing and enthusiastic cooperation of Roland itself,” said Kim Bjørn, founder and CEO of Bjooks. “We’ve been privileged to gain access to the company’s vast archive of interviews and technical information, interview the quiet geniuses that design the musical future, and connect with the worldwide Roland community.
Dozens of enthusiastic creators have helped put together this monument of music tech history, documenting decades of tech innovation and artistry, told by the people who used the instruments and the engineers who made them come alive.”
Kim Bjørn has also interviewed many personalities from the music scene who have worked intensively with Roland products throughout their careers. Electronic music pioneers like Jean Michel Jarre, artists like Sister Bliss (Faithless), Howard Jones, Orbital, Richie Hawtin but also many rock and producer stars.
An exciting book that we are very much looking forward to. This will be not only for friends of the TR-808, TR-909, Jupiter-8… It will be a book highlighting the history of Roland from different fascinating perspectives. From synthesizers, studio equipment, guitars, and more.
If they are as well-written, informative, engaging, and illustrated as the others, this will become a must-buy for any Roland lover.
The new Bjooks Inspire The Music book will be available this summer through authorized sellers. The price will be probably around 59€.
