After many plugin deals, the first hardware deals are slowly coming. Yesterday I reported about very good Synthesizer deals at Sweetwater. For example, there is the Moog Werkstatt for $ 159 or the Behringer Neutron/Pro-1/Cat for $199 each. Another product from the Music Tribe is now available at a no-brainer price.
The Klark Teknik 3rd Dimension rack analog effect unit is now available for $69 USD at Sweetwater. That’s a price drop of $100 USD.
Klark Teknik 3rd Dimension BBD-320
The KT 3rd Dimension BBD-320 is an analog replica/clone/recreation of the iconic Roland SSD-320 chorus rack unit from 1979. Known as “secret sauce”, it’s a very simple and effective unit that can inject spatialization and subtle modulation into your tracks.
According to KT, it’s an authentic reproduction of the original analog circuitry with the same BBD (Bucket Brigade Delay) technology. Like the original, it gives you a pure analog signal path with the same simple user interface. It has five buttons, a relay-controlled hard bypass witch with remote control and auto bypass function, a 10-segment LED meter, and a power switch.
On the backside, you have servo-balanced inputs and outputs on 1/4″ TRS and XLR connectors. Plus, you have a mono/stereo operation mode switch on the backside. Good, the unit has a built-in power supply and not a brick.
For a price of $69, this is a no-brainer deal. For the price of a plugin, you get here an all-analog hardware unit. It’s a shame that I don’t live in the US. I would order it immediately for testing.
