KV331 Audio and Tone2 update their synthesizer plugins (SynthMaster One 1.4 & Electra 2.8) with numerous new features and more.
It is the beginning of summer and the time where the music tech market is a bit quieter just started. It is always good to see that companies develop and maintain existing products further, especially plugins.
Two well-known and popular Synthesizer plugins got nice free updates this week. KV331 Audio SynthMaster One and Tone2 Electra 2.
Tone2 Electra 2.8
Tone2 Electra 2 has also been updated and new features have not been left out. Electra 2.8 includes a new big GUI with 6 different sizes, enhanced sound, higher performance, new features, and lots of improvements. The engine and effects have also been improved in sound quality.
New features
- The plugin detects the screen-resolution and selects the best size automatically.
- The filter-display, the osc-display, the LFO-display and the envelope-display are animated when automation or MIDI-learn is used.
- Pitchwheel and Modwheel are animated when the patch-browser is visible.
- Added Notarisation for the installers on Mac.
- Support for Code-Signing on the Mac, since new hosts may require it to be able to run plugins.
- Compatibility with MacOS Catalina.
- Completely new AudioUnit interface.
SynthMaster One 1.4
KV331 Audio’s powerful but easy-to-use wavetable Synthesizer plugin has been nicely expanded with several new features. Besides a lovely new black Fishman skin (partnership with Fishman Audio), the developers add some handy new MIDI & MPE functionalities:
- Added support for MIDI CC 126 (Mono Mode On) and CC 127 (Poly Mode On).
- Added new MIDI Input Channel type “Multi” for better integration with MIDI guitars such as Fishman Triple Play.
- Mono presets should be mono per channel for multi-channel (Multi/MPE) input.
- Vertical alignment of many user interface elements are incorrect.
- When number of ASIO devices is greater than 32, SynthMaster One standalone (Windows) crashes.
- Buttons on License Key File dialog don’t work in SynthMaster One standalone (Windows).
Tone2 Electra 2.8 & KV331 Audio Synthmaster One 1.4 updates are available now as a free download for existing users. SynthMaster One for desktop is currently on sale for $49 USD (regularly $79 USD) and the iOS version for $3.99 USD.
