The new Elektron product is called Model:Cycles and is a compact groovebox with 6 instruments based on FM synthesis and advanced sequencing features
It has been known for a few days that Elektron is introducing a new instrument on Wednesday. I can imagine that your curiosity is very high. If you can’t wait until tomorrow, I have something for you. A few minutes ago the Elektron Model:Cycles leaked, a new 6-track FM groovebox in the same design as the Model:Samples.
This time they don’t rely on samples but on 6 instruments based on FM synthesis. Available are 6 machines (kick, snare, metal, perc, tone, and chord). So we now know why Elektron advertises the teaser with the slogan “Meet The Machines”. Each of the instruments offers 4 controllers for shaping the sound. Your tracks can be refined with a delay and reverb effect processor.
Audio Or MIDI Sequencer
In total there are 6 audio tracks for the FM instruments which can also be used as MIDI tracks. So like the Model: Samples, the Model: Cycles can also be used as a MIDI sequencer. You can create up to 96 projects and in each project, you can save up to 96 patterns which is enough for bigger performances.
The rest remains like the Model: Samples. A bit of a shame that they do not use better knobs or includes battery operation in this new Model version.

Meh. No thanks. Nothing interesting really. That design is ugly tbh. Just bring back monomachine and machinedrum
You can still get a Machine Drum or a Mono Machine on eBay. I just picked up a mint MD MKII for £550. A new product of that calibre is going to be way more expensive than that.
