Disting MK4 Firmware V4.14 Adds New Pulsar VCO, Switch Algorithm & More

Disting Mk4 got another new firmware with v4.14 which includes two new algorithms as well as many improvements for existing ones.

“Magic Os” was active again and once again extended the Disting mk4 module. In firmware update v4.14, Expert Sleepers adds a new pulsar VCO that operates like granular synthesis as well as a switch algorithm. Furthermore, older programs have been improved and bugs fixed.

For example, the VCO with linear FM, VCO with waveshaping, and Wavetable VCO algorithms now respond to incoming MIDI note messages. Also, the SD delay received a setting for the maximum delay time. Again a great update for the Disting module. However, I would like to have an expander module where you have more knobs and a better display. With so many algorithms it’s getting harder and harder to use.

The disting is a many-in-1 multifunction module, offering a variety of CV and audio processes, including a selection of oscillators (LFOs/VCOs). All algorithms have two high-precision inputs and outputs, and a third control input, exposed on a front panel knob and a CV input.

The disting is also a sample (WAV) file and MIDI file player, with a variety of options for sample triggering, playback speed etc.

Added the Pulsar VCO algorithm.
Added the Switch algorithm.
Added slew parameters to the Dual Sample and Hold algorithm.
The MIDI Clock algorithm can now output clocks up to 24ppqn (1/96th note).
The VCO with linear FM, VCO with waveshaping, and Wavetable VCO algorithms now respond to incoming MIDI note messages.
The Quantizer 2 algorithm can now take its quantisation pattern from incoming MIDI note messages.
Added a setting for the maximum delay time of the SD Delay algorithms.
Fixed some problems where incoming MIDI would stop working when saving a preset or switching to certain algorithms.
Fixed a problem where audio files with loop markers would not loop properly if the loop was not near the end of the file.
Fixed a problem with the knob recorder in the Stereo Filter algorithm.
