The latest episode of The Plugin Minute features a piano sound from Ableton, LITOTE granular processor and the Valhalla VintageVerb reverb!

Not only hardware devices are nice to use but also plugins. Even if you have to operate them with MIDI controller or mouse, they are an essential part of the sound design. To show this, The Plugin Minute format was created. Here you can find on a regular basis 1 minute sound demos of instrument and effect plugins or even both together. No talking only sound!

In one of the latest episodes, I decided to combine a virtual piano sound from Ableton with two different effect processors. The piano sound first goes into the LITOTE granular processor from Inear Display that creates very horrifying textures in the background of the main sounds. Lastly, it goes in the excellent ValhallaDSP VintageVerb reverb plugin that adds a nice room to the sound. The final result, you can hear in the video just below.

The Plugin Minute

Overview

LITOTE is a granular audio effect plugin which can turn any sound into a dramatic texture. Four audio engines can be combined using a XY pad for a wide range of variations.

ValhallaVintageVerb is a postmodern reverb plugin, inspired by the classic hardware digital reverbs of the 1970s and 1980s.
