Let’s create a software Synthesizer. That was the mission between the media publisher Sonicstate and Meta Junction, a developer from UK. The result is a new software synthesizer with the name Wave Junction for Max4Live. In my opinion, it’s a quite deep instrument for this software architecture. Please make attention, this new synthesizer work only in Ableton Max4Live.
Wave Junction is a collaboration between Sonicstate.com and coding genius Phelan Kane of Meta Function. Based on the free Mono Junction synth they released early 2017, Wave Junction is a four voice hybrid paraphonic synthesizer with 2 multi-wave oscillators, including wavetable synthesis, FM and Superwaves. It’s got three multi-mode, routable filters, 5 LFOs and five envelopes, plus a 12-slot routing matrix. Within each slot up to fourteen modulation sources can be mapped to up to thirty modulation destinations.
Features of Wave Junction
- Two Multi-wave Oscillators (waves) plus users Wavetables and FM
- Three Multi-mode Filters – can run either series or parallel each with:
- LP/HP/BP 2+4 Pole
- Transistor Model 24dB
- Diode model 18dB
- 5x syncable LFO’s – yes Five
- 5 ADSR Envelopes
- 12 Slot Mod Matrix with fourteen sources & thirty destinations
- OSC sources – Saw/Pulse/Tri/Sine all with Super variants for detune density
- Wavetables: 16 preset waves, plus user uploadable wavetables (coming soon)
- Variable Ratio FM depth for each wave combine to create rich sources
- Great sounding filter types: LP/HP/BP 2/4 Pole, Transistor and Diode with distinct resonance character
- Cohesive Integration with Ableton Push
System Requirements: Ableton LIVE 9.6.1 and MAX4Live 7.2.2
Wave Junction is created using Ableton’s Max For Live, and runs within both OS X and Windows of Ableton’s Live software.
